Health and Safety Coordinator
The full time position is based in Campbell River for a well established marine towing business that specializes in towing logs on the East Coast of Vancouver Island. The Company has operations in Nanaimo and Crofton and employs a fleet of 30 vessels and 45 crew.
The HSC reports to the GM and will be responsible for execution of H &amp S programs, implementing new policies, satisfying regulatory requirements and liaison with customers. Responsibilities will include maintaining FSBC safe certification, 3rd party safety programs, and employee certification and training.
Education and experience requirements to include post secondary education in safety management or similar field &ndash minimum 2 years experience in safety management &ndash familiarity with Forest Safe BC Safe Certified and COR programs &ndash class 5 drivers licence &ndash first aid &ndash and proficiency in MS Office products.
