ISO House, suite, apt, cottage, cabin for working female forestry professional

A bit about me - I'm a young forestry professional with a secure job in forestry. I spent about ten years working in reforestation, Silviculture and surveys. I'm hoping to find a sweet spot to call home anywhere from Duncan Ladysmith or Nanoose-Errington-Coombs-Comox. I'm looking for a place that has a good community atmosphere and still gives me lots of access to the outdoors. I've lived all over the island and am hoping to find the place with the right fit. I would like to find a place that either has 1.5-2.5 bedrooms in order to accomodate guests or offer the potential for a roommate or family to stay. I am looking for something above ground with lots of light. I don't need a large space but something that allows for space to work on projects, etc. Preference to places with green space or trees around. Looking for Oct 1/15 or Nov 1 with rent ~1200 including utilities. I'm quiet, enjoying visiting with friends and having dinners but not one for partying. I'm very active and like to spend lots of time outdoors and tripping around when I'm not working. I am handy and would be willing to trade some labour for decreased rent if you are hoping to update the inside (or outside) of your space. I'm a very respectful tenant with great references!
