Shelter: BC SPCA - Campbell River Branch Animal ID: 512949 Birthdate: August 04, 2016 - Adult Spayed/Neutered: Yes Male Do you love to go on long walks enjoying nature but wish you had a companion to go with? Then meet Trigger!! This adorable guy is super focused on his surroundings, or anything that catches his attention. Being this way, he needs to have his person be aware that at some point he is going to need to be diverted away from his focus. Trigger can get very intense on his things, to the point that he will not share with you. He is not mean in any way, just will keep out of reach of you. He will be able to over-come this once he realizes that even if you have his toy, you will give it back. Trigger listens very well and knows his commands, although he can have some work on recall. He is very treat motivated, making training very easy as he will focus on you because of the treat. He loves to go for walks and is very good on the leash, but can use some work on pulling. Using a harness with him, he tends to walk better. Being off leash should be kept to a minimum unless he's in an enclosed area, at least until he can tune out the intense focus on objects. Trigger needs to have an active guardian, who will be able to take him out for long walks. He is not good with small children, and has not had a good experience with them so his new guardians must be aware of that and understand that this is what is best for Trigger. He is amazing loose inside the home, great out in the yard when left to relax on his own, and loves car rides. If you would like more information on Trigger, please call the Branch and talk directly to one of the staff members during regular business hours Tuesday to Saturday from 12-4:30pm.
