Project Manager- Responsibilities: • Versed in civil and residential construction • Prepare contracts, negotiate revisions as well as interpret and explain contractual agreements with engineers, developers, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports while studying job specifications to determine proper execution of the project • Requisition and procurement of job specific supplies and materials • Obtain all necessary permits and licences for the project at hand • Plan, schedule and coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines while being aware of damages, site emergencies/ accidents and delays that may occur. • Sound knowledge of safe work procedures while implementing relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with the contract • Adhering and monitoring compliance with building and safety code regulations, contractual obligations and occupational safety and health. • Proven ability to read civil plans and other construction drawings as well as familiar with production rates, heavy equipment, and the general work process for civil excavation, earthworks, underground utilities, and roadworks. • Manage labour and equipment requirements on an ongoing basis Qualifications/ Experience: • Minimum 5+ years' relevant work experience in construction industry • Experience with client relationship management • Proven success in delivering high quality projects on time and on budget • Capable of managing small to mid-size projects with emphasis on monitoring project document development, project change and variation orders • Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses: • Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field (asset but not required) • Project management and scheduling software/ Estimating Software (asset but not required) • Microsoft Office Suite • Driver’s License (Class 3 or 5) • First Aid Skills: • Take initiative, collaborate with others, open to taking direction, and always willing to think outside the box • Excellent verbal, written and listening acumen to effectively communicate and convey information • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions • Excellent organizational, time management and prioritizing capability • Logical and critical thinking skills using adequate analysis and reasoning • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability • Basic math skills required, and must be able to accurately calculate figures and amounts • Demonstrated leadership skills with key emphasis on being a team player Area of Work Experience; • Portfolio includes water & sewer projects, road construction and transportation infrastructure projects and excavations • Blast prep and rock excavation • Blue clay • Civil and residential services, backfilling, ditching, excavation erosion control, fine grading and finishing land, clearing material, rough grading, slope grooming, sloping and banking, snow removal , stock piling, stripping, stumping, sub-grade excavating and trenching.
