Commercial Dump Truck Driver Responsibilities: • Versed in civil and residential construction projects • Proven ability to drive in diverse weather conditions • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections • Maintain meticulous delivery and driver job logs • Accurate and detailed timesheets • Proficient operating GPS and other routing systems • Prevent damage and injury by ensuring all contents are secured at all times • Supervise loading of materials • Verify that the material being transported is correct • Ensure your load does not exceed weight restrictions • Report any injuries, accidents and mechanical failures immediately to management Qualifications/ Experience: • Minimum 3+ years' relevant commercial truck work experience in construction industry • Strong Knowledge of transportation functions • Excavator, loader, and rock truck experience an asset • Skilled at driving large and parking large heavy vehicles- includes trailer, pup and quad • Service and maintain assigned vehicle maintenance and repairs including refuel, tire pressure, small repairs etc. • Knowledgeable of Victoria and surrounding area • Basic knowledge of aggregates, soils, gravel • Communicate with dispatch as needed, following direction and instruction • Versed in civil and residential construction projects Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses: • Valid BC Driver’s License- (Class 1 preferred) with Airbrakes endorsement • Clean Driver’s Abstract • First Aid an asset • High School Diploma or GED Skills: • Ensure safety is prioritized at all times • Take initiative and willing to think outside the box • Collaborate with others with a strong emphasis taking direction • Excellent time management and prioritizing capability • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability • Basic math skills required • Demonstrated leadership skills with key emphasis on being a team player • Customer focused Area of Work Experience: • Portfolio includes water & sewer projects, road construction and transportation infrastructure projects and excavations • Blast prep and rock excavation transportation • Blue clay • Civil and residential Type of Industry Experience: • Blasting • Drilling • Site Servicing • Demolition • Large bulk excavations • Pipeline construction • Road building Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: • Physically demanding • Attention to detail • Fast-paced environment • Various weather conditions • Ability to lift minimum 50 lbs • Overtime required • Ability to travel to project sites as required Job Types: • Full-time • Overtime • Permanent Schedule: • 8-10+ hour shifts • Weekdays and some weekends • Overtime Salary: • $28.00 - 33.00/ hr (Based on experience) • Wage package will be applied accordingly • Subcontractor Benefits: • Dental care • Disability insurance • Extended health care • Life insurance • Vision care We thank all applicants for their interest.
