Island Ops is a FREE government-funded program designed to help individuals who self-identify as having a disability, to gain sustainable employment throughout Vancouver Island, Powell River, and the Southern Gulf Islands. Island Ops offers the following services and supports: • Job Coaching – personalized, one-on-one coaching to help build and promote your existing skills and experience; • Enhanced Employability Work Experience Opportunities – gain experience and demonstrate your skills to potential employers; • Wage Subsidies – temporary supports that benefit you and potential employers. Our experienced team is ready and committed to helping you overcome barriers, gain confidence, and find success in the workplace through our inclusive approach and program mix. Key Points • Multiple types of supports available to help you find fulfilling employment. • Ongoing intake means you can start anytime. Eligibility includes: • Legally entitled to work in Canada; • Self-identify as having a disability; • Are currently not collecting EI, nor have in the past 5 years; • Require assistance to prepare for, obtain, and keep employment.
