Position: Digitization Technician Classification:Full time, Permanent Salary:$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Location:Williams Lake, BC Deadline:Until Filled The Tŝilhqot’in National Government (TNG) is the official First Nations government serving the Tŝilhqot'in Nation. TNG is located in Williams Lake, British Columbia and serves six communities, including ʔEsdilagh, Tŝideldel, Yuneŝit'in, Tl'etinqox, Xeni Gwet'in, and Tl'esqox. TheDigitization Technicianis a valuable member of the TNG radio department. They research and record news and sports stories, edit recordings, and publish them for on air use. Record, edit and publish any TNG events or news releases. Maintain radio online via communication with broadcast software supplier. Research broadcast software/ hardware for improvements. Knowledge of digitization equipment and how to use them. Key Responsibilities * Research news and sports stories that are interesting for the audiences * Write scripts to be read for on-air use based off those stories * Record and produce audio for on-air use * Record and produce audio ads/commercials for TNG events and news releases * Schedule playlists and media for radio software for on-air use * Communicate with radio software to maintain radio is on-line * Maintain radio equipment and hardware in communities and in-town * Understands digitization equipment and how to use it to digitize analog media * Works with elders to record original contentRequirements * Audio production skills – Adobe Audition, Audacity, Garage Band etc. * Being comfortable on the microphone * Knowledge of radio software * Knowledge of digitization equipment and what digitizing analog media isWorking Conditions * Travel may be required * Ability to attend and conduct presentations * Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware * Overtime as required * Lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be requiredPlease send a cover letter, resume and 3 references to: Jenai Nolin Human Resources Generalist & Recruitment Tŝilhqot’in National Government 1729 South Lakeside Drive Williams Lake, BC V2G 3A9 Email: jenainolin@tsilhqotin.ca Preference will be given to those of Aboriginal Ancestry - per Section 16(1) of the Canadian Human Rights Act Only those invited to interview will be contacted.
