Sammie looking for her forever loving home

Sammie is a Cavopoo, a mix between a poodle and Cavalier King Charles spaniel. Sammie was found as a stray by Fita, a selfless and very devoted dog/cat rescuer in Wuhan, China. Sammie is about two years old, 20 pounds, spayed and had all her shots up to date. Sammie was bullied badly by the other dogs at Fita’s shelter. When the opportunity came, Sammie got to come to Canada. Sammie is being fostered on Vancouver island. Sammie is the most cuddly bug. All she wants to do is to be with her foster mom. She loves cuddles, pets, tummy rubs and kisses. She will sit there letting her foster mom take as long as she needs to clean out her sleepy dust, her ears, etc. She sleeps by her foster mom’s pillow every night. As soon as Sammie knows that her foster mom is awake, her tail starts to wag. Sammie is a little “protective” of what she thinks hers, eg her (foster) home, the deck, the yard. Unfortunately Sammie has picked up the habit of barking from the other dogs at her foster home. She will bark, with enthusiasm, when there is a “stranger” in the house or in the yard. It’s a behavior as a result of sense of insecurity. However her barking stops if her foster mom is close by. Her foster mom has enlisted the help of one of the best dog trainers and is working with her trying to correct this unwanted behavior. Sammie is improving. There was a lady who wanted to adopt Sammie at the beginning of July, who would have been a perfect mom for Sammie. However the lady ran into some unexpected financial stress and couldn’t take Sammie. Sammie’s foster mom loves Sammie so much and so wanting to keep Sammie, but she knows that Sammie will be happier in a perfect home and will be getting a lot more personal attention she craves for. Also the foster mom needs to make room for any future dogs coming who will need a temporary home until they find their forever home. If you are looking for a cuddly bug, a great companion, please give Sammie a consideration. Sammie is fine with cats. If you have a laid back dog at home, Sammie will get along with no problem. But if you have a furry kid who needs your undivided attention, then Sammie probably won’t fit in. Small children scare Sammie, so do sudden movements and loud noises. Again, Sammie is getting better dealing with the noises and sudden movements as she gets more comfortable and more confident. Sammie goes to work with her foster mom some days, she is a good little visitor at work and everybody just adores her. (There is an adoption fee for Sammie, unfortunately.   It costs Fita about CAD$1000 to send a dog like Sammie from Wuhan to Vancouver. We are asking the adopter for at least $600 just to help Fita recover some of the cost.   Fita has got over 400 dogs and 60 cats now,   it’s a lot of mouths to feed and to care for. Fita gets very little in donations, she pays for all the expenses by herself.)
