Position: Audiologist/Hearing Instrument Practitioner Student (Graduating Year) Reporting To: Manager – Hearing Aid Department: Hearing Aid Centre Description of position Participates in the practice of Audiology/Hearing Instrument Dispensing under the supervision of a licensed Audiologist/Hearing Instrument Practitioner for the purpose of fulfilling the requirements necessary to become a licensed hearing instrument practitioner or audiologist. Daily tasks and responsibilities * Assist in all areas of the hearing aid department, both clinically and administratively. * Cleans, sanitizes, repairs, and preps hearing aids for delivery. This can include some programming of hearing aids and modification of ear molds under supervision. * Observes and/or participates in tasks and procedures related to assessment of hearing, treatment of hearing loss and dispensing of hearing aids under supervision of a licensed clinician. * Where permitted by provincial law and under the supervision of a licensed clinician, assists with member appointments. * Follows department procedures and standards for record keeping, confidentiality, and infection protocol.Non-essential functions and tasks * Assists in other areas of the warehouse as necessary. Typical schedule * Typical shifts and days off will be discussed at the time of the interview. Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry-specific skills that candidates must possess) * Education/Training: Currently enrolled (in final year of studies) or recently completed an approved college or university training program for the purposes of obtaining a Masters/Doctoral Degree in Audiology or Registered/Licensed Hearing Instrument Practitioner program. * Permits/Licenses/Certifications: Student license if required in the province. * Experience: None. * Knowledge/Skills: None.Knowledge and talents recommended for job success NOTE: For postings in Quebec locations, candidates must be able to communicate in French (oral and written).
