Door and Window Salesperson

THE OPPORTUNITY Slegg Building Materials is currently seeking a Full-Time Specialty Sales - Doors & Windows team member. The shifts are Monday - Friday, we offer a competitive compensation package. Our Extended Health & Dental benefits start after 3 months.   THE BENEFITS - Extended health care - drug and dental coverage, practitioners, disability, and life insurance - After 1 year of service, staff can participate in the RSP program with contribution matching - An exclusive employee stock purchase plan - Company discounts on all products sold at Slegg Building Materials - Monthly breakfast or lunch events for our staff - Employee referral bonus program - Training and advancement options - All employees immediate family members are eligible for an annual scholarship program - Secure vehicle and bike parking THE RESPONSIBILITIES - Respect and obey safety policies and procedures in our yard and on jobsites - Work in partnership with Outside Contract Sales Team - Provide superior customer service - Review Building Links, leads sheets, and attend Sales Team Meetings to follow sales opportunities - Take pride in your work environment keeping your desk area clean and presentable - Greet and assist customers with purchases, provide suggestions and recommendations on products and materials - Provide project quotes, enter delivery orders/special orders and assist in purchasing - Build strong customer relationships through reliable call backs, follow up on deliveries, and awareness of project timeline to foresee material needs - Be a source of information and continue to increase knowledge with interior, exterior, commercial doors, mouldings, windows and garage doors - General housekeeping duties and general stocking of merchandise as required in store and warehouse - Communicate with the shipping department to ensure delivery schedules and instructions are met - Participate in quarterly weekend inventory counts - Other duties as assigned by management THE REQUIREMENTS - A broad knowledge of commercial doors, windows and hardware is an asset - One or all of the AHC, CDC or EHC professional certifications is an asset - Detail orientated with disciplined work habits - Minimum two years sales experience is an asset - Effective communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak in English - Strong computer skills- Microsoft based-Outlook, Word, Excel - Customer-service focused - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
