Position:Front Desk Supervisor Relocate to Port Hardy, B.C. Kwa'lilas Hotel is seeking an experienced Front Desk Supervisor to join our team in Port Hardy! The Kwa’lilas Hotel is located in the traditional territories of the Kwakiutl people. Meaning “a place to sleep”, the “Kwa’lilas” hotel was named by the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw elders in hopes that guests may find peaceful rest after a day of exploration on North Vancouver Island. The Front Desk Supervisor will assist in the management of daily Front Desk Operations, and the training and coaching of Front Desk Agents on daily duties. The perfect candidate for this position must possess a positive and upbeat personality, with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests. What We Offer: * 1 month of accommodation for those relocating from outside of Northern Vancouver Island * Enrollment in company benefits after 6 months of employment * Wellness program including free smoothies, fitness classes, discounted gym membership and free in-person counselling services. * Discounted meals while on shift * Career growth and development opportunities Duties and Responsibilities * Assist staff with expediting payment problems * Follow up with guests regarding satisfaction and any issues related to their stay; anticipate and address guests' service needs * Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing and activating room keys. * Process all payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit. Set up accurate accounts for each guest upon check in (ie share-withs, sperate room/tax/incidentals, comp). * Anticipate sold-out situations and obtain satisfactory alternative accommodations when an over-booking occurs. * Contact appropriate individuals and departments as necessary to resolve guest calls, requests, or problems. * Coordinate with housekeeping to track readiness of rooms for check-in. * Review Shift Logs/Daily memo books and documents pertinent information in log books. * Count bank at the beginning and end of shift. * Balance and drop receipts according to Accounting specifications. * Assist management in training, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model and first point of contact in adhering to company policy process. * Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to a manager; complete safety training and certifications. * Comply to all company policies and procedures; ensure Front Desk staff are also in compliance * Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. * Respond to all guest inquiries in a professional manner, coach front desk agents in providing email responses and * Other duties as required by Front Desk Manager, and General Manager.
